Our Website Just Got a Major Upgrade: Better Performance, New Features, and Seamless Experience

We’re excited to share that our website has undergone a significant upgrade, bringing you a smoother experience and a suite of new features to make interacting with us easier than ever. Here’s a breakdown of what’s new:


1. Modernised Platform: Powered by Odoo ERP

Our website now runs on Odoo 18, upgraded from Odoo 14. For those unfamiliar, Odoo is an all-in-one business management software that covers everything from accounting, human resources, e-commerce, point-of-sale (PoS) systems, inventory management, and more. By leveraging Odoo ERP, our website is not just a portal, it’s part of a fully integrated system that streamlines our internal operations and ensures that our visitors and customers receive a seamless experience.


2. Locally Hosted for Better Performance

We’ve migrated our web server from a cloud provider to a locally hosted environment in Brunei, with Cloudflare acting as a reverse proxy. By using a reverse proxy, it allows us to host this website without subscribe for a public static IP address. 


Being hosted locally, this gives us better speed, control, and performance. Here’s a comparison of the server upgrade:

Hosted as a Virtual Machine (VM) on Proxmox VE 9


With Proxmox VE as the hypervisor, we can easily scale resources as needed, for example, increasing the CPU cores, memory or storage. This setup is more economical in the long term while providing excellent performance.


There are some trade-offs: being locally hosted in a non-datacentre environment that do not has any redundancy, the server is more vulnerable to power outages and internet downtime. However, after reviewing our website traffic and transaction data, we believe this compromise is worthwhile for the increased control, scalability, and long-term cost benefits.


3. Product Comparison Feature

Our new product comparison tool is curated to allow technical specification comparisons across different brands, not just products from the same brand. This makes it easier for you to make informed decisions, whether you’re comparing storage devices, networking equipment, or other tech products.




4. Request for Quote (RFQ) Feature

Now, requesting a quote for any product is just a few clicks away. This feature is designed for convenience, allowing site visitors to quickly send RFQs for specific items, and receive a personalised quotation without any back-and-forth emails.




5. Help Desk Feature

Support has never been simpler. Our integrated Help Desk allows you to submit inquiries, track the progress of your requests, and receive timely responses from our team. The current help desk services include:


  • Pre-Sales & Product Consultation – Get expert advice before making a purchase. Our team can guide you through product features, compatibility, and best-fit solutions.
  • IT Support (Level 1) – Basic troubleshooting and technical guidance to help you resolve common IT issues efficiently.
  • Warranty & RMA Support – Assistance with warranty claims, returns, and replacements for eligible products.
  • Billing & Payment Support – Help with invoices, payment processing, and resolving any billing-related questions.


6. Job Recruitment Feature

We’re also leveraging Odoo’s Job Recruitment app to streamline hiring. This new feature allows us to manage applications, sort candidates, and track recruitment progress without manually sorting or printing resumes. The integrated system ensures a smooth recruitment process, both for applicants and our HR team.
